(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – On March 30, 2014 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was contacted in regards to a domestic situation that occurred in a vehicle as it travelled on Simcoe Road.
As officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP patrolled Glenarm Road they observed a vehicle matching the provided descriptors and approached it just West of Killarney Bay Road. The officer determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol and as a result the 36 year old male from Bowmanville, was arrested and charged with driving a motor vehicle while impaired and with driving with 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood.
Further investigation revealed that the accused was involved in a domestic altercation earlier in the evening. The accused was further charged with aggravated assault, contrary to the Criminal Code.
The accused will appear for a bail hearing in Lindsay on March 31, 2014.
