TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – On March 28, 2014 an officer with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle for speeding on Highway 35 near Nightingale Road. The driver, Kyle PORTER, 28 years of age, of Algonquin Highlands, now faces numerous charges.

The officer’s investigation revealed that PORTER was operating the vehicle without insurance and with no currently validated permit. The investigation is continuing and further charges could be forthcoming.

The accused was charged with speeding and having an expired validation tag, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act as well as with driving without insurance, contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

Mr. PORTER will appear in court, in Lindsay, on May 13, 2014.
