(Hawkesbury, ON) In the morning of Sunday March 30th, 2014, at approximately
03:00 am, Constable Pascal Boudreau of the Hawkesbury OPP Detachment stopped a 2011 Kia Rio on John Street in Hawkesbury while performing a RIDE checkpoint.
The traffic stop gave the officer reason to believe that the driver had consumed alcohol and that his blood alcohol concentration was above the permitted limit. The driver was consequently arrested for driving while having blood alcohol content above 80 mgs per 100ml of blood.
Consequently, Michel GIROUX (34 yrs) of Hawkesbury, ON, was charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with section 253(1)(b) Driving with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood.
He was later released on a promise to appear in court on April 16th, 2014 in L’Orignal.
