(Casselman, ON) On March 30, 2014 OPP Constables were conducting a traffic enforcement initiative on Montee Rainville in Casselman. The OPP along with the Casselman By-Law were made aware by concerned community members of a large party that was taking place on that night. The OPP officer set up a R.I. D.E on that road in the hopes that no drivers would risk driving while ability affected by alcohol or drugs. At one point a vehicle pulled up to the R.I.D.E. The officer noticed a strong smell of an illicit drug coming from vehicle. The officer investigated the matter and spoke to all the young people in the car. As a result some illicit drugs and alcohol was found in the vehicle.
Several people were found to be committing offences.
Kane, F. HANNA, 18 years old from North Stormont Township was issued a provincial offence notice for the following offence:
LLA 31(2) Having liquor in open container in other than licenced premises, residence or private place
Sean MCLAUGHLIN, 18 years old from North Stormont Township will have to appear in L’Orignal court to answer to the following charge:
CDSA 4(1) Poss of a Schedule II substance- Cannabis Marihuana – under 30grams
Patrick MORAN, 19 years old from North Stormont Township will have to appear in L’Orignal court to answer to the following charge:
CDSA 4(1) Poss of a Schedule II substance- Cannabis Marihuana – under 30grams
