$1,500 Drug Bust In Lucknow

(LUCKNOW, ON) – On Wednesday, April 2, 2014, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of the Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team, West Region Canine Unit, Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit, South Bruce OPP and South Bruce Crime Unit, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a property on Campbell Street in Lucknow.

As a result of the execution of the search warrant, an indoor marihuana grow operation was revealed. Police seized cannabis marihuana plants, processed cannabis marihuana, cannabis resin, oxycodone pills, hydromorphone pills, and methamphetamine. The combined estimated value of the seized controlled substances was $1,566.00. Police further seized offence related property that consisted of marihuana production equipment and trafficking paraphernalia with an estimated value of $1500.00.

A 50 year old Huron-Kinloss male was arrested and charged with production of cannabis marihuana, possession of cannabis marihuana for the purposes of trafficking, possession of oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine for the purposes of trafficking, possession of hydromorphone, possession of cannabis resin, and failing to comply with conditions of a probation order.

An 18 year old Huron-Kinloss female was arrested and charged with the same offences as the 50 year old male, as well as an additional count of failing to comply with conditions of a Recognizance.

Both subjects were held in custody pending the result of their bail hearings.
