RACING CHARGE IN ESSA

(ESSA, ON)- The Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting proactive patrols on April 1, 2014 at 7:30pm on County Road 10 and Willoughby Road when a motor vehicle was stopped for speeding 51kilometers per hour over the posted speed limit.

Charged for speeding 131km/hour in an 80 km/hour zone is 52 year old Essa Township resident.

He was charged with Racing under the Highway Traffic Act, his licence was suspended for 7 days and his vehicle was towed and held for 7 days. He was issued a Summons to appear in court to explain his speed to the Ontario Court Justice.
