UNLOCKED HOMES ENTERED, VALUABLES AND VEHICLE STOLEN

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County detachment is currently investigating a crime spree that occurred along the north edge of Caledonia, Haldimand County, ON.

During the early morning hours of Tuesday April 1st, 2014 unknown(s) attended several properties along Williamson Drive and McAlpine Place, Caledonia. While in the area 2 homes where entered through unlocked entrance doors. While inside the homes, vehicle keys, purses and clothing were located and removed. A silver 2003 Ford van was removed from a driveway with an ignition key which had been stolen from the home. Vehicles were also entered some locked and some not with cash and camera equipment valued at $7300 dollars being removed.

A grey 2004 GMC pickup truck was stolen from a Banff St. address which contained a large quantity of Canadian Currency during the early morning hours as well. This vehicle was eventually recovered in the Niagara Region later in the day.

The silver 2003 Ford van was also eventually recovered at a Winniett St. Caledonia address which contained a quantity of stolen property including the $7300 dollars in camera equipment, clothing and identification stolen from the homes and vehicles along Williamson Dr and McAlpine Place.

Some property is still unaccounted for with the investigation continuing.
