TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO DRUG CHARGES

(TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH, ON)- On April 4, 2014, at 11:44pm a Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Officer conducted at traffic stop on a vehicle driving southbound on 8th Avenue without headlights.

After stopping the vehicle, the Officer was led into a drug investigation, due the odour in the vehicle.

Nottawasaga OPP have charged both males in the vehicle. Charged is the 18 year old driver, Jake DURSTON, he is charged with Possession of a Schedule II Substance under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act as well, he is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Novice Driver, Blood Alcohol above zero and Drive without proper headlights .The passenger in the vehicle, 18 year old Colin MACLACHLAN was charged with Possession of a Schedule II Substance under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.
