OPP RESPOND TO FIREARM INCIDENT

(KILLARNEY, ON) – Officers from the Noelville and Sudbury Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachments as well as members of the OPP’s Emergency Response Team and K-9 unit, converged upon a residence on Charles Street in Killarney at approximately 10:20 pm on Thursday, April 10, 2014, after receiving a call involving a firearm.

Police investigation revealed that a shot gun was carelessly discharged by an intoxicated male thru the living room window of a Charles Street home from a neighbouring residence. The incident ended peacefully and without any injuries early this morning and as a result, police have arrested and charged Kurtis TYSON, 44, of Killarney with:

Careless Use of a Firearm

Improper Storage of a Firearm

Unauthorized possession of a Firearm

Foul play is not suspected and the incident poses no further danger to public safety.
