(Prince Edward County, ON) On April 13, 2014 at 6:24pm an officer with the Ontario Provincial Police Prince Edward County detachment was on routine patrol when they observed a traffic violation. A motor vehicle was stopped on Bridge St., Picton. While the officer investigated, the driver appeared to have been consuming alcohol.
The male driver, 53-year old LESLIE JOHN LILEY of Oshawa was arrested and is charged with the following offences:
Operating While Impaired, contrary to Section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Operation With Over 80mgs. of Alcohol, contrary to Section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Drive While Under Suspension, contrary to Section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act
Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle, contrary to Section 12(1)(d)
The accused was released from police custody on a promise to appear to attend the Ontario Court of Justice, Picton on April 30, 2014.
