(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – A vehicle stop recently conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has resulted in the driver facing numerous charges.
On April 19, 2014 an OPP officer observed a vehicle travelling at 105 km/h in an 80 km/h zone, on Little Britain Road and subsequently stopped the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the driver was suspended from driving.
As a result of the investigation Geoffry HICKSON, 51 years of age, of Reaboro, was charged with the following offences:
Speeding, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle, contrary to the HTA
Driving while under suspension, contrary to the HTA
Fail to surrender insurance card, contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act
The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on June 10, 2014.
