TRAFFICKING AND WEAPON CHARGES

(TOWN OF FERGUS, ON) – On April 17, 2014 at approximately 1:32 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting foot patrol on St. Andrews St. W. in the Town of Fergus.

At this time and location officers observed two males walking towards them and detected a strong odour of marihuana emanating off of them. One of the males admitted to having a small quantity of marihuana on him. Officers arrested the male and searched him incident to arrest and located over 30 grams of prepackaged marihuana as well as other items that would indicate the male was trafficking a controlled substance. Officers also located a pocket knife on the male that opened with centrifugal force.

Alexander Langille aged 18 of Fergus has been charged with Possession of Marihuana for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on May 27, 2014 to answer to the charges.
