(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – On April 27, 2014 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was contacted in regards to a vehicle having crashed into a ditch on Eldon Road near Quaker Road.
Officers attended the scene and determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol. Further investigation revealed the presence of a small quantity of marihuana.
As a result of the investigation Beverly WILSON, 56 years of age, of Eldon Township, was arrested and charged with driving with more than 80mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood, contrary to the Criminal Code and with possession of marihuana, under 30 grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. A further charge of failing to report an accident, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act was also laid. The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for 7 days.
The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on May 29, 2014.
