Serious Crash North Of Shakespeare – One Airlifted to London – Part of Perth Road 107 Closed

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at approximately 9:15 a.m. Perth County OPP officers were dispatched to a two vehicle crash on Perth Road 107 just south of Line 40.

Investigation revealed that a north bound 4 door sedan crossed the centre line and made contact with the rear wheel of a south bound transport truck. The impact caused the sedan to spin and enter the east ditch where it came to a stop in an upright position. The lone male occupant of the sedan required extrication from his vehicle by the Township of Perth East Fire Department (Shakespeare Station). The extricated male sustained serious injuries and as a result was airlifted to the London Health Sciences, Victoria Campus where he is currently in stable condition.

Perth County OPP officers are being assisted in their investigation by the OPP Western Region Technical Traffic Investigation Unit. It is expected that Perth Road 107 between Line 37 and Line 40 will remain closed until approximately 4 p.m.
