(Huron East, ON) – On June 9th, 2011 at approximately 11:30pm, Huron OPP officers set up a RIDE checkpoint on Turnberry Street in Huron East.
A vehicle was observed leading the ball park in Brussels and then the vehicle failed to stop for the RIDE checkpoint. The vehicle turned into a private driveway and officers met with the driver after he had exited his vehicle in order to enter the residence. The officer immediately detected that the driver had been drinking alcohol and the demand was read for the driver to provide a roadside sample of his breath. The male refused to provide a sample and was then arrested for refusing as it is required by law.
As a result of the traffic stop and investigation, Bradley BEUERMAN (35) of Brussels has been charged with one count of Refuse to Provide Breath Sample. He will answer to his charge in the Ontario Court of Justice on July 14, 2011. His licence was also suspended for 90 days as per statute.
