(ONEIDA NATION OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) – One male is in custody following an investigation involving two structure fires on Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation.
On June 24, 2014 at approximately 10:30 p.m. Oneida Police Service, Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Elgin County OPP and Oneida Fire Service responded to a fully engulfed residential fire on Ballpark Road on Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation.
Police responded to a second incident involving a fire and male causing damage to the Oneida Nation of the Thames Police Service and the Economic Development Building.
There were no injuries as a result of the incidents and the value of damage is yet to be determined.
Male party, Jody Thomas SUMMERS, age 29 of Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation was arrested without incident and charged with the following:
Two counts of Arson – Disregard for Human Life
Two counts of Arson – Damage to Own Property
One count of Arson – Damage to Property
One count of Break, Enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence
One count of Mischief Over $5000
The accused has been remanded into custody.
