MALE ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT POLICE AND BREACH OF PROBATION

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On June 30, 2014 at approximately 11:26 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call regarding a suspicious male in the area of the Guelph Curling Club located on Highway 6 just north of the City of Guelph.

Police located the male and were immediately concerned for his well-being as he was acting oddly and appeared to be suffering from serious sunburn. An ambulance was called and the male voluntarily went to a local hospital to be assessed. While at the hospital the male became extremely violent, looking for items to smash and attempted to punch an officer. The male was placed under arrest for assault police. Once medically cleared and released from the hospital, he was transported to the Rockwood OPP Detachment for processing.

Further investigation revealed that the accused was bound by a Probation Order to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.

Christopher LEBLANC aged 33 of Guelph has been charged with Assault Peace Officer and Fail to Comply With Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada and held for a Bail Hearing.
