(RENFREW, ON) – Officers from the Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the single vehicle collision at 7:45pm on Monday June 30. The single vehicle collision closed Calabogie Road in the Township of Greater Madawaska for more than 7 hours while the investigation took place.
A 1998 Toyota Corolla was travelling northbound when it left the pavement and travelled into the ditch. There were two adult males in the vehicle, a father and son. The 31-year-old driver has been identified as Jawed NASERY 32, of Ottawa. He suffered minor injuries, while his father Muckhtar NASERY 59, of Ottawa suffered serious, life-threatening injuries. Mucktar NASERY was rushed to hospital by paramedics where he died of his injuries.
Provincial Constable Sarah Turcotte of the Renfrew OPP is leading the investigation, with assistance from the Technical Traffic Collision Investigators. If anyone has information about this crash, they are asked to contact Renfrew OPP at 613-432-3211.
