On June 18, 2014 the suspect attended an address on John St. The male had a metal pipe which he used to smash a window in the door, allowing him to reach in and unlock the door. Once inside the suspect proceeded to attack the victim with the pipe demanding money. The suspect commenced to search the residence giving the victim an opportunity to escape and call police. The victim sustained a minor cut over the eye area.
An officer on patrol in the Park St area noticed the male in question, who he was familiar with from previous dealings. The officer ran the male on the data bank system which revealed that the male was wanted for the above mentioned investigation. The 26 yr old Barrie male was arrested for robbery/break and enter and assault with a weapon, he was transported to the station and held for a bail hearing.
