DRINKING AND DRIVING OFFENCES

(COLLINGWOOD AND THE BLUE MOUNTAINS, ONTARIO) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged two individuals with drinking and driving offences over the course of the weekend.

The first incident took place on the 5th of July 2014 shortly after 3:00am when police received a traffic complaint about a possible impaired driver last seen on First Street near Cedar Street in Collingwood. Police subsequently located the vehicle on Dawson Drive and interactions with the male driver found that he was under the influence of alcohol. As a result, he was arrested and transported to Collingwood detachment for processing.

Charged is 47 year-old Matthew BULAI of Collingwood. He is facing charges of driving while ability impaired and driving with more than 80 mgs. of alcohol in blood and is to appear in Collingwood court on the 22nd of July 2014.

The second incident took place on the 6th of July 2014 at approximately 8:15am in The Blue Mountains, when police received a call for a possible impaired driver in the parking lot at Mac’s Convenience store on highway 26. Police located the male driver in his vehicle where it was found that he was under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and transported to Collingwood detachment for processing.

Charged is 24 year-old Thomas GOODALL of Clearview Township. He is facing charges of care or control while impaired by alcohol and care or control over 80 mgs. and is to appear in Owen Sound court on the 14th of August 2014.
