Michael STEWART – Drive While Disqualified & Impaired Charges

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A 50 year old male driver and his female passenger are both facing charges after a traffic stop early Sunday morning. At approximately 3:00 a.m. on July 6, 2014 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a black Dodge Durango travelling erratically on Kirkton Road near Elimville Line. The driver was stopped and upon speaking with the driver the officer noted the driver had been consuming alcohol and was displaying several signs he was impaired by alcohol.

He was arrested for Impaired Operation and transported to the Sebringville OPP Detachment for breath tests. He failed to provide samples of his breath to the qualified Intoxilizer Technician. Also, upon completing a driver’s licence check on the driver it was determined the driver was currently prohibited from driving.

As a result, Michael STEWART, 50 years of age, from South Huron has been charged with Driving while Disqualified, Driving While Ability Impaired and Refuse to Provide Breath Sample. He has since been released from custody with a court date scheduled for July 21, 2014 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

The Dodge Durango will be impounded for 45 days.
