(THE BLUE MOUNTAINS, ONTARIO) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a male motorist overnight for impaired driving and possession of a controlled substance as a result of a vehicle stop.
On the 11th of July 2014, shortly after 2:00am, an officer on patrols conducted a vehicle stop on The Blue Mountains-Clearview Townline near Orchard Drive in The Blue Mountains. Interactions with the driver found that he was under the influence of alcohol; as such he was arrested and transported to Collingwood detachment for processing. During the course of the investigation it found that he was also in possession of a small amount of marihuana.
Charged is 20 year-old Curtis DAVIES of Clearview Township, he is facing Criminal Code charges of driving while ability impaired, driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood and fail to comply with conditions of undertaking. He was also charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with possession of a controlled substance (cannabis marihuana) under 30 grams and a Highway Traffic Act charge of class G2 license holder with blood alcohol concentration above zero.
He is to appear in Owen Sound court on the 29th of July 2014.
