On July 12, 2014 at 9:30 p.m., the Guelph Police went to Golfview Park after receiving the report of youths setting off fireworks and smoking drugs. Police located the responsible youths as they set off a firecracker in the park. Further investigation also discovered that one youth was in possession of marihuana and was breaching a condition of his probation. This male was arrested while the other male was taken home to his parents.
A 15-year-old Guelph male has been charged with possession of a controlled substance (CDSA) and breach probation. He was also charged with discharge firework on city owned lands under the City of Guelph Firework By-law. He will appear in court on September 3, 2014.
