(HUNTSVILLE, ON) On Friday night July 11, 2014 just after midnight a male was located on Main St near West St N in violation of the liquor licence act, was issued a Provincial Offences notice. On the same night a male who was sleeping on the sidewalk on Main St W., near Paget lane was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place, taken to a place of safety for the night and was issued a Provincial Offences notice.
On Saturday July 12, 2014 at about 6:00pm officers located a male on Muskoka Rd #10 near Port Sydney with open liquor, he was issued a Provincial Offences notice for the offence. The same night at about midnight two males were walking on West Rd., in Huntsville with open liquor. They were both issued Provincial Offences notices for the offence.
Just after 2:00am on Sunday July 13, 2014 officers observed mischievous acts taking place on Brunel just up from Main St in Huntsville by three males. They were arrested and one male was issued a Provincial Offences notice with being intoxicated in a public place under the Liquor Licence Act.
The Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to remind people that the liquor licence act clearly states that alcohol beverages can only be consumed in a licence premises or a residence. When walking from an establishment to your residence that it is done safely and without drawing attention to yourself.
