(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – A Haldimand County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was on patrol in the Town of Caledonia, in Haldimand County.
At approximately 11:19 p.m. Sunday July 13th, 2014, the officer observed a dirt bike driving on Kinross Street with no lights. The officer activated his emergency lights and attempted to stop the dirt bike. The driver of the dirt bike fled on Braemar Street, so the officer turned off the emergency lights. A short time later the officer located the dirt bike on a lawn on Braemar Street. The officer saw a male driver and a male passenger flee the area on foot. The officer managed to locate the young male passenger and through the investigation he was able located the young male driver.
The fourteen year old male driver from Northern Ontario is facing the following Criminal charges
Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle
Flight while Pursued by Peace Officer
Fail to Stop at Scene of Accident
The accused is scheduled to attend Provincial Court in Cayuga at a later date.
