Chatsworth Man Faces Assault and Forcible Confinement Charges

(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) – On Thursday, July 17, 2014 at approximately 7:30 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to investigate an assault that had occurred on Concession 2 in the Township of Chatsworth earlier that afternoon.

Investigation revealed that the victim, a 61 year old woman, was assaulted by her son following a dispute over the sale of the property. The accused prevented the victim from leaving the residence until she agreed not to sell the property. She left the residence and called police. There were no injuries reported.

Police arrested the 42 year old, Township of Chatsworth man, who was held for a bail hearing. He was charged with assault, forcible confinement and five counts of unsafe storage of a firearm.

His next court appearance is scheduled for Monday, July 21, 2014.
