(INGERSOLL, ON.) – Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fail to remain collision that occurred on July 5, 2014 at the intersection of King Street East and Water Street, Ingersoll.
At approximately 7:20 p.m., an 11 year old male youth was travelling on his bicycle eastbound on King Street East approaching Water Street. The youth was travelling on the north sidewalk and observed a truck slowing down on Water Street as it approached King Street East. The cyclist attempted to stop but the front part of the bicycle came into contact with the truck.
The vehicle driver involved in the collision did stop briefly and assisted and spoke to the cyclist involved. When the cyclist advised he was ok, the driver left the scene.
The youth who was struck attended a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The vehicle is described as a dark grey pickup truck, 4 doors, with tinted windows.
The driver of the vehicle was a female, with grey hair, approximately 5’0 tall, thin build. There were 2 other occupants in the truck, a female youth and a male that also assisted the cyclist.
