DRIVER CHARGED AFTER COLLISION WITH CYCLIST – Charged Person Incorrectly Identified

(LAMBTON COUNTY, ON) – In a news release issued on July 2, 2014, the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) mistakenly identified a witness as the driver and charged person.

On June 28, 2014, just after 8:00 a.m., Lambton OPP officers responded to the 3600 block of Petrolia Line to investigate a collision involving an Oldsmobile vehicle and a cyclist. The cyclist sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The person charged in relation to this incident was the driver of the Oldsmobile, 29 year old Craig MCDONALD who is from Petrolia. He was charged with Careless Driving and Fail to Remain under the Highway Traffic Act.

The OPP apologizes to this individual for the error and for any inconvenience this has caused.
