(LAMBTON COUNTY, ON) – A member of the West Region Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Emergency Response Team (ERT) has been issued a provincial offences notice following a collision that occurred on July 23, 2014 at around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Petrolia Line and Oil Heritage Road. .
Investigation has determined that the fully marked OPP Ford pickup truck was travelling west on Petrolia Line responding to an emergency call in the town of Petrolia. A Ford SUV was travelling south on Oil Heritage Road when the vehicles collided. The driver of the SUV, a 32 year old Plympton-Wyoming female, suffered minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital and released. The officer was not injured.
As a result of the investigation, Sergeant Peter VANDERHEIDE, an 18-year-member of the OPP has been issued a provincial offences notice for red light – fail to stop contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
