(WEST PERTH, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Perth County detachment, in conjunction with OPP Crime Unit members, Forensic Identification Services (FIS) members and the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office are currently investigating a suspicious fire on Lane Street in the Municipality of West Perth.
The fire occurred shortly before 3:00 p.m. on August 11, 2018, when a motor vehicle was reported to be fully engulfed. West Perth Fire Department and Perth County OPP members attended, and the unoccupied vehicle was extinguished.
At this time, the cause of the fire has been determined to be suspicious and remains under investigation.
Concurrently, OPP members are investigating a recovered stolen motor vehicle, as well as a recovered stolen trailer and sailboat; both of which are believed to be related to the arson.
