(PERTH EAST, ON) – Shortly after 8:30 a.m. on August 13, 2018, a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Perth County detachment observed a stunt driver on Perth Line 43 in the Township of Perth East.
The vehicle failed to stop for police and fled the scene, entering a ditch. The vehicle was located by police and no injuries were sustained by the lone occupant.
As a result, forty-nine-year old Zoltan BERTOK of Kitchener was arrested and charged with the following offences:
Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle;
Flight while pursued by police;
Drive while under suspension; and,
Race a motor vehicle-excessive speed
The vehicle was towed and impounded. The male was later released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
This incident is yet another example of the dangers associated with stunt driving. The actions of this driver placed other drivers
