(FRONT and LEEDS, ON) – On August 1, 2014 at 2:15pm, officers of the Leeds County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a train collision between a eastbound CN train and a west bound VIA train.
For an unknown reason, a freight car derailed and the VIA train clipped it.
Six (6) freight cars were derailed or partially derailed.
No one was injured.
Passenger buses were brought in for the VIA Train passengers.
Station Road, Cliff Road and Kyes Road are closed. Please use detours.
The Transport Canada has been notified.
