(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A 27 year old male driver is facing a charge of Drive Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol following a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E) checkpoint stop on August 2, 2014. Just before 3:30 p.m. on August 2, 2014 the driver of a Chevrolet Optra entered a R.I.D.E checkpoint located at the intersection of Bayfield Road and Telephone Road. A Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer spoke with the driver and detected the driver had been drinking alcohol.
A roadside screening test was completed and the driver registered a Fail. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. He provided two samples of his breath and both registered over the legal limit.
As a result, Jason SMALL, 27, from Bluewater has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on September 15, 2014. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
