At approximately 10:00am, a father and his two young children attended a downtown business in the city of Owen Sound. The father accessed the business by way of a rear fire escape and rooftop off of 1st Ave E in the 900 block. Upon leaving the business, the father and one of his children, a 2 year old son, were temporarily distracted while walking on the roof top. The young child continued to walk while looking backwards and upon reaching the edge of the building fell over 20 feet to the sidewalk below. The young child was transported to the hospital and later airlifted to London for further medical treatment regarding serious injuries. Based on information from witnesses, at this time the incident appears to be an extremely unfortunate accident.
