OPP ARREST MAN AT RIDE CHECK

(Prince Edward County, ON)—On August 9, 2014 at 8:49pm officers from the Ontario Provincial Police Prince Edward County detachment had conducted a RIDE check at Charwell Point Road and Army Reserve Road, in the Ward of Athol.

A man driving a pick-up truck was stopped. The driver appeared to have been consuming alcohol. OPP arrested 24-year old Bradley WILLIAMS of Picton. The accused is charged with the following:
Operation With Over 80mgs. of Alcohol, contrary to Section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Drive While Under Suspension, contrary to Section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (x3).
Drive Motor Vehicle, No Currently Validated Permit, contrary to Section 7(1)(a) of the Highway Traffic Act.
Novice Drive-B.A.C. Above Zero, contrary to Section 44.1(3) of the Highway Traffic Act.

WILLIAMS was later released from police custody on a promise to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Picton on September 3, 2014.
