On August 11, 2014 at 10:20 p.m., Guelph Police went to the area of Woodlawn Road, north of Imperial Road for a hit and run collision. It is alleged that a loaded transport truck being operated by a 42-year-old Barrie man was travelling north on Imperial Road. At the same time, an unknown dark colored compact car darted into the path of the transport and was struck in a “T-bone†style impact hitting the passenger side of the car. The driver of the transport truck exited his truck and attempted to ascertain the extent of any injuries. The driver of the car fled the scene at a high rate of speed, through the Petro Canada gas station and was last seen eastbound on Woodlawn Road. There was substantial damage to the front of the transport truck, and it is believed that the car sustained major right side damage. At this time it is believed that there were two male occupants in the car which is described as small and possibly a red coloured Chevrolet.
It is believed that the passenger in the car may have been injured in the crash and police are making an urgent request to locate this motor vehicle to ascertain the nature of any injuries.
