OPP Arrest Male for Impaired Driving

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) -The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) of the Bracebridge detachment arrested and charged a male with impaired driving.

On August 14, 2014 at approximately 3:15 pm Bracebridge OPP members attended a single vehicle crash on the Highway 11 Southbound on ramp from Highway118 in Bracebridge. The vehicle had crashed into guard rails on the shoulder of the road and the male driver fled the scene on foot.

The Bracebridge OPP, Muskoka Vice, K-9 and the Emergency Response Team (ERT) searched the area. The male driver was located and arrested for impaired driving after a short search.

John SMITH 23-year-old male from Gravenhurst has been charged with

Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood
Driving While Ability Impaired- motor vehicle (Alcohol)
Fail to remain at the scene of the crash
Driving motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor

The male will appear in Bracebridge court on August 22, 2014 to answer to his charges.
