(SOUTH STORMONT, ON) – The Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating after dealing with a suspicious person call this morning in South Stormont Township.
Officers responded to a residence on Myers Road at approximately 9:14am to a report of a male outside who was acting suspiciously with blood on his shirt. Upon arrival officers found the male armed with an edged weapon and injuries to his torso. A conducted energy weapon (CEW) was used to disarm and subdue the male. He was then transported to hospital by paramedics.
The OPP has notified the province’s Special Investigations Unit which has invoked its mandate. As a result, the OPP will not be able to provide any further information. Any other enquiries should be directed to SIU communications at 416-622-2342.
