POLICE URGING ALL RESIDENTS TO LOCK MOTOR VEHICLES

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment is reminding the public to remove wallets and purses along with other valuables from their motor vehicle after an entry was reported at a Mapleview Drive, Hagersville, Haldimand County, Ontario address.

On Tuesday, August 19, 2014 between 3:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m., unknowns attended the address and entered two unlocked motor vehicles located in the driveway of the residence. Once inside, unknowns removed personal and financial information.

“Police are urging all residents to remove their wallets and purses from their vehicle. The theft of any wallet or purse puts the owners at risk for identity fraud,” comments Constable Ed Sanchuk, Haldimand County OPP Detachment.
