(HAMILTON TWP, ON) – At about 2:00pm today Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a complaint of a transport truck (minus the trailer) driving erratically north of Cobourg. Witnesses reported the transport driving into oncoming lanes, almost causing a head on collision. At one point a beer bottle was thrown from the truck.
Officers located the transport truck in the area of Dale Road and Division Street a short time later. Three occupants, all adult males, were arrested at the scene. A loaded rifle was recovered in the cab of the truck along with open liquor.
The males were taken to the Cobourg OPP detachment for further investigation.
The matter remains under investigation with criminal charges forthcoming.

As a result of this investigation, Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged the following persons:
1) Benjamin MAZUREK age 25 of Colborne:
– Impaired Operation of a motor vehicle and Over 80mg.
– Breach of Firearms Regulation – transport firearm or restricted weapon(2 counts)
– Possession of Stolen Property
2) Evor LEONARD age 42 of Grafton:
– Breach of Firearms Regulation – transport firearm or restricted weapon(2 counts)
– Possession of Stolen Property
– Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
3) Scott PATTON age 24 of Cramahe Township:
– Breach of Firearms Regulation – transport firearm or restricted weapon (2 counts)
– Possession of Stolen Property
– Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
All three accused were released on August 17, 2014 and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on September 17, 2014.
