(ORILLIA, ON) – The Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating an assault which took place in Orillia on Sunday night.
At approximately 10:43 p.m. on August 17th, 2014, police were called to a Barrie Road address in relation to an assault.
Officers attended the scene where they were advised that two males had entered the residence and assaulted the tenants before being chased from the residence. One male left the left the scene in a black car possibly a Chevy Impala or Pontiac G5. The other male was arrested a short time later after being located walking on Barrie Road.
Johnathan WATSON, age 25 of Wallaceburg, has been charged with the following criminal offences and appeared in court today.
Assault with a Weapon
Assault Cause Bodily Harm
Forcible Entry
Disguise with Intent
Breach of Probation
The victims attended Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital for treatment. Their injuries were non-life threatening.
Police believe the suspects were known to the victims and that this was not a random incident.
