Benjamin CALDWELL Added To Hall Of Shame – Break And Enter, Assault With Weapon – Cindy MACLENNAN Also Charged

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers have arrested and charged a male and female with criminal offences after their break and enter attempt was foiled by a homeowner.

Last night just before 11:30 p.m. Huron County OPP officers responded to a single dwelling residence located on Saltford Road after the homeowner called police reporting suspects had thrown an object through a window and were attempting to break into his home.

The homeowner was able to prevent the pair from entering the home until such time as police arrived on scene and were able to locate and arrest the male suspect at the residence. The female suspect was arrested a short distance away.

The male suspect and the victim sustained minor injuries from the altercation. The female suspect was uninjured.

As a result of the police investigation, Huron County OPP has charged 24 year old Benjamin CALDWELL, from Middlesex Centre. He is charged with Break, Enter a Dwelling House with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence, Assault with a Weapon and Mischief Under $5,000. He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for September 2, 2014 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Also charged is 43 year old Cindy MACLENNAN, from Goderich. She is charged with Break, Enter a Dwelling House with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence and Assault with a Weapon. She has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for October 20, 2014 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
