ALCOHOL AND DRUGS SEIZED FROM VEHICLE

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – A vehicle stop recently conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in the seizure of drugs and alcohol.

On August 30, 2014 the OPP received a traffic complaint indicating that a vehicle was being operated in an erratic manner on Highway 7, near Pondview St. Officers were able to locate and stop the vehicle.

The ensuing investigation revealed the presence of open liquor, marihuana and psilocybin (mushrooms) in the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation Christopher POZZI, 30 years of age, of Mississauga, was charged with possession of marihuana, under 30 grams, possession of psilocybin and possession for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA). He was also charged with having open liquor in the vehicle, contrary to the Liquor Licence Act (LLA).

The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on October 2, 2014.

The passenger, Timothy POZZI, 27 years of age, of Mississauga, was also charged with having open liquor, contrary to the LLA.
