(GRAND BEND, ON) In total numbers, the last long weekend statistics of the 2014 summer break are not different than 2013 however there are some specific differences.
Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to almost 300 calls for service, throughout the county, but specifically, these statistics are for Grand Bend. In 2013, drug charges and criminal charges registered zero compared to 2014 with seven drug charges this past weekend and eleven criminal code charges.
A total of 63 charges for 2013 and 2014 are indicated and that takes into account all criminal code charges, drug charges, trespassing, municipal by-law, liquor, highway traffic act charges and automobile insurance charges.
Although liquor charges lead the way again, the charges were down to 27 in 2014 compared to 39 in 2013 and 61 liquor charges in 2012. Seven people were taken into custody in 2014 whereas 2013 saw only four persons taken into custody.
