(WHITE RIVER, ON) – On September 2, 2014 at 3:30 p.m., officers from the Superior East White River Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision involving an S.U.V on Highway 17, White River.
Preliminary investigation revealed, the female driver of the north bound vehicle continued in a straight path at a curve crossing the centre line onto the south bound lane and coming to rest upside down partially submerged in water in the south bound ditch.
The 68 year old female driver had to be extricated by police. She sustained serious head injuries and was air lifted to Sudbury hospital. The 74 year old passenger sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Highway 17 has been re-opened to all traffic.
