(SCHREIBER, ON.) -On September 5, 2014 at approximately 10:05 a.m. members of the Schreiber Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were involved in a traffic stop at Hwy 17, Town of Terrace Bay for a Highway Traffic Act offence. The driver of a west bound motorcycle failed to identify himself and an altercation occurred when police attempted an arrest.
The 46 year old male driver, Andre SALESSE, of Terrace Bay, Ontario was arrested and has been charged with two counts of Assault Police, Resist Arrest, and two counts of Uttering Threats contrary to the Criminal Code. SALESSE was further charged with Highway Traffic Act offences including Driver Fail to Give Identification.
The male was released from custody and is to appear in Criminal Court at Schreiber, Ontario on December 11, 2014 to answer to these charges.
