Teen Charged with Failing to Comply

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a young man for breaching his release conditions.

In January 2014, the man entered into a Probation Order. One of the conditions of his Probation Order stated that he was to abide by a daily curfew of 10:00 p.m.

In June 2014, the man was released from custody on a Recognizance, with a condition to remain in his residence at all times except for medical emergencies or attending court.

Last night, around 11:30 p.m. an officer on general patrol in Chatham observed the man walking on Queen Street. The 18-year-old Chatham man was arrested and has been charged with two counts of failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
