CONCERNED CITIZENS LEAD TO IMPAIRED CHARGES

(MATTAWA, ON)- On September 12, 2014, at approximately 8:47 p.m., members of the Mattawa OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 630, Calvin Township. The vehicle in question was located and stopped by police. As a result of an investigation David PHILLIPS, age 52, of Garson, Ontario, was charged with the following:

Driving with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood, contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Driving with Ability Impaired-Motor Vehicle, contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Possession of Schedule II substance-Cannabis Marihuana- Under 30 gms, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).

The accused was released from custody and is required to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on September 23, 2014.
