(BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – Both the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula and the Town of South Bruce Peninsula have upcoming municipal elections. As such, candidates have erected many campaign signs in the area.
In the past 7 days, the Bruce Peninsula OPP has received three separate complaints involving the removal of these election signs.
Removal of signs which have been legally erected may constitute an offence under the Criminal Code of Canada.
The Bruce Peninsula OPP is requesting anyone who may have information that can assist police to call 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or send a web-tip to crimestop-gb.org, where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
OPP remind the public that Citizen Self-Reporting is now available to report some low priority incidents such as Thefts under $5,000, Damage to Property under $5,000, Thefts from vehicles, Lost or Missing Property.
