Traffic Enforcement

Last night, an officer was conducting speed enforcement on Talbot Trail near Erieau Road. Around 7:30 p.m. he observed a car travelling westbound at a high rate of speed. The officer recorded the man driving 113km/h in a posted 60km/h zone.

The officer initiated a traffic stop and learned that the man was suspended from driving. He was also wanted on two outstanding warrants, both for driving while under suspension.

The 33-year-old Leamington man was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He has been charged with stunt driving and two counts of driving while under suspension.

As per one of the warrants, the man was transported to the South West Detention Centre in Windsor. His friend’s car was impounded for seven days in accordance with the Vehicle Impoundment Program.
